Hi Everyone!

Most of my work has been published online and in print through the small press in the UK and overseas. I thought you might like to see a selection of some of the successsful work.

Affetuoso Tempesta

Cloudburst and your music resonates
exploding globes to my lips,
in the trickling rivulets sucking hair to cheek;

drumming delicately on exposed shoulders,
summer sweet sparkle notes,
pizzicato waterfall melody for first violin.

Pianissimo, legato, lento
the Earth slows to listen
to a natural tremolo.

Intricate compositions arrange droplets
queuing to be played, falling into each other,
glissando into hushed, warm wetness.

( Affettuoso Tempesta literally means "a musical term used to describe to the musician to play with affection" and "storm" but basically, I was caught in a storm in the local Tesco's car park and I was struck by the hushed, musical quality of the rain)

My Time

Jay's a Girl
in my time,
unspoken
(well, not entirely)
to his wife
who knows he
"dresses"
occasionally.
Is this all there is?
Jay's "techy",
balding, glasses,
too many brain cells,
so clever, where does it all fit?
Jay's a girl in my time
(beautiful to me)
Is this all there is?
(I love them both)
Jay as a girl is flirty, bedazzling,
she could sparkle for Tiffany's
rustle in taffeta ballgowns in red
to match the streaks in her hair.
Her make-up's a bit hit and miss,
(is this all there is?) you know,
but she needs a girlfriend to flounce
around with, shop for shoes with
Is this all there is? Jay's a Daddy
with an expensive life, responsibility
and so many windows in his house, his
office, his cars, his train journeys,
always looking out (is this all there is?).

** so many windows is a reference to a windows tax, hence all the picture windows particularly in Bath.

Scattered

Emotion compose me for close
touch value love rhythms give
pull me quiet in solitude gentle
an understanding communication.

Compose an emotion for me.

Feelgood Friday

Her unwelcome lover stalked and prowled,
depleting resolve for days until, one Tuesday,
she turned around and kissed him full on the mouth.
For three days he grasped and groped, fingered,
forced and tongued his body through hers
until, too tired to cry, she left his bed, took a shower,
answered the telephone and opened the door.
