At The People's Poet, we are committed to bringing poetry
into everyday situations and we love to use poetry to enhance
the enjoyment of natural and architectural surroundings.
We are looking for more poetry for our -
Poole
Borders-
walk.

| We
are in the process of devising some routes around Poole and its
borders with Bournemouth and providing some pictures and some poetry
to enhance those walks. We are also going to be adding some recipes
inspired by the areas to the book, offered by our resident chef,
Richard
Markham. |

| We
initially took this walk on a sunny day in late February when the
car parks are free, the areas are almost deserted and the Spring
flowers are at their freshest. Imagine finding wild violets amongst
the ivy along the paths and catching a whiff of wild garlic (before
it flowers and becomes rather more strong-smelling!) and wild rosemary
in two varieties and colours among the sea breezes. Damp woodland
and fungus in the still air giving way to brisk blasts of salted
whirls. Standing tall on the bridges before stepping down to stare
up at cliff faces. This is our Poole Borders walk and we invite
your poetry to enhance the walk book, which will be the first in
a series of separate books, which will eventually come together
as a larger, complete volume. Please send in your poetry and we
will select works for the book, to enhance the experience of the
walks. Thank you. email me with your poetry
here.
Mo
Turner, Poole Poet for 2003, is working hard with us on this first
walk project. Please see our events page for
information about our next poetry elections night, part of the
Poole Word and Book Festival.
